My friend was nice enough to give me one of his Batman codes when he purchased 2 570's :D so I'll be downloading tonight. I don't think I'll have much time to play but I can't wait!

LOL! I haven't laughed so heartily since someone posted the Chuck Norris "thumbs up" video clip.

What even more hilarious is that I'm old enough to remember watching that as a kid. "Some days you just can't get rid of a bomb!"

In what way(s)? I'm sure it's good graphically and as an FPS-type of game, but I'm curious as to the specifics you like most about it?

Greg, it is hard to explain. First, the "set design" is really pretty amazing. There are several areas that are museums or displays. In one, the museum displays have been "modified" and each one has a button to press to tell you about the display - and the recording has also been modified (trying to not give away any spoilers). Not just one or two displays mind you - but several dozen.

The visuals are great both in quality and creativity.

The story is interesting as well.

The game play strategy is fun. There are battles, boss fights, etc. But there are also times when you have to plan your attack order and sneak up on the bad guys and pick them off silently one by one.

Also, the characters are creatively drawn (wow, can it get any more politically correct than that . . . lol).

Have you played Arkham Asylum?

Step away from the TF2 and experience a great singleplayer game.

Might I recommend Mass Effect series. :-D

I heard Batman Arkham City was having some stuttering issues with DirectX 11? I don't own it on PC (yet), but were you guys getting horrible framerates/stuttering with DirectX 11 enabled?

Hmm...I think I'll wait until Rocksteady fixes the DX11 issue--the price may drop some by then, too (maybe Steam will have a sale?)

Yeah - DX11 needs to be fixed.

You should check out Arkam Asylum if you have not already. $19.99 on Steam. There is also a demo for Asylum.

Thanks for the clarification Dave.

I already have Batman AA. I bought the GOTY on Steam last Christmas for like $7.

I am sure Arkham City will be on sale too. :D

All game reviewers noted the DX11 issue which surprised them since the game was delayed for PC so the developers could implement PC-only features.

At any rate, Arkham Asylum has been on sale at Steam numerous times, G. You can seriously grab it for $10 or less. You should know it uses that pesky Games for Windows Live. Still the game is solid so it's worth a thorough playthru.

Yea I don't mind the GFWL, as its the same as Xbox Live, which I have. So it works out. :D

I'll nab a copy over the Steam Christmas sale. I didn't see it for less than $25 anywhere though when they were on sale on Origin and Steam for Cyber Monday and Black Friday.

Not the best - but you can go up into the tower that is on fire . . .

http://steamcommunity.com/id/davbow/screenshots

Note in the tower pics taken a few seconds apart all the changes in the scenery in the background.

The unreal engine is my favorite game engine. Maybe Cryengine3 is better, but its still new.

Using the DX11 option yielded a shutdown within the first few minutes of play. I have been playing the game on XBox since the release, it will eat hours out of your evening. From what I have read, Rocksteady expects to have a fix (patch) within the next week or two, so we shall see.
As Dave said, the story line is pretty cool, you can do these side missions that take you off the path. The graphics are really detailed and amazing. Oh and the "ringing phone" will generally send you across Gotham.
