It is the one that is in between the 2 pci slots.
Not the one above the cpu.

If anyone knows what it is called I would like to know. Thank you.

ETA: sorry this is a stock motherboard.

Greg Could she be talking about the north or south bridge cooler? they are plastic and stand up as heat sinks don't they?

The heatsink between the 2 pci-e slots is for the south bridge. And it's not plastic...it's made of aluminum.

Ok. Thank you.

It sure feels like plastic...the south bridge one.
Maybe because it is so small???

I went against most advice I have read and did change the thermal paste
on the Northbridge. I was scared but I got it done.

I was wondering if there are better heatsinks than the one that is on the Northbridge.
I have 2 of them from an old computer that look much nicer as far as appearance.
I however do not know how to compare quality for performance.

That thing is soooooo pretty!

I would need to find pictures of that installed.
It is not overly expensive either.
