But Dav I typed in the words for it
. I pulled the side and heard nothing. started with each speaker ( 5.1) it is coming from bass speaker. seems like I read once about something to do with a ground on the computer itself. I'll see if I can find it again and post it. Thanks all DRW
OK update The ground was something about needing an earth ground and not just a ground from the electric wiring of the house. But I did not go out and drive a ground rod into the ground just to ground my computer
I did read in me speaker book about having my sub at least 3' away from the computer ( it was sitting right next to it) so I moved it and it seems to be gone hopefully for good .
There are special provisions in the NEC for so-called 60/120 volt technical equipment, mainly professional grade audio and video equipment supplied by so-called "balanced" 120 volt circuits. These cases generally use a grounding conductor which is "isolated" from the neutral conductor specifically for the purposes of noise and "hum" reduction.
