Updating from 1.0.5 to 1.0.13 and it's been 'attempting to update' for over 30 mins now. Is that normal?

If not, what should I do?

Well, after 45 mins of 'attempting to update' I turned the PC off and rebooted. The bios is updated to 1.0.13... go figure. Not sure why it hung up...

It's only supposed to take a couple minutes.

You are lucky. You could have bricked your board doing that.

Same thing happened to me with the 1.0.13 update: hung up, but no brick (thankfully!)

Well, I'm getting close to upgrading my XPS with a new mobo and stuff. So it wouldn't have been that big of a deal.

I'm wondering if I should just buy the parts to make a whole new PC and sell my 630i on ebay. Should have able to get something out of it.

There are some real advantages of going with a new case--a faster install, easier access to components, better airflow, and cabling options are just some of them.

I just wish there were other cases out there that look as nice as my 630 case...

NZXT has a case that has a similar look... well, a little bit like the 630 (it's red!):
