Let me know which ones--I haven't updated the Nvidia drivers, because I still hear multiple reports about the latest release being buggy.

GDonner, the Nvidia Video Drivers can go to 190.62 as the lastest with 186.18 & 182.50 as fallbacks.
The Nvidia ESA Tool version 6.03 is reliable, I tried 6.05 and had tremendous issues with it and ended up reinstalling the OS to grt the system back.
That is my recommendations, good luck.

Okay--I'll give this a shot, and see how it goes (in terms of feedback from users).

the 186.18 is stable and works good
but 190.62 is bad have some issues.blackscreen and more bugs.
no 2D mode use by the driver´s,the enegie feature not work properly.
normal is the GPU clock´s go down if 2D mode reached, but the GPU have every time
full clock.so no recommendation for the 190.xx

Not sure if you're downloading from the Nvidia site but manufacturers like Palit and Sparkle prefer you to download strictly from their sites. It's been known at times to be conflictions when upgrading gpu drivers from the Nvidia site for the Palit & Sparkle gpu's. Palit is very good at making sure drivers are compatible with their gpu's. If not, they do act quickly with their revisions.

When the Nvidia site releases their drivers, sometimes it takes time for other manufactered sites to release the same version. I assume this is the situation with Palit. I would just keep checking periodically until they release their version

In light of the note about 190.xx release, I've revised the driver version to 186.18, with any older driver(s) as fallback.

Sounds good, I will follow the 190.62 drivers for progress and feedback from other users. I went back to the 190.62 drivers and so far no issues. I haven't played any games with them, no time but will give them a shot.

Actually version 15.53 for Windows 7 has been out for almost a year.

http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_win ... 15.53.html

Version 15.51 is for Vista 64 in referrencing what Kevin was asking you.

The only reason I asked was I didn't know how often this list was updated anymore and I noticed the latest Vista 64-bit version was 15.51. Have people been having problems with the latest release and does updating the driver really even matter?

I am looking for the Softex Media Plug-in (Light FX) download. The link is dead and Google isn't helping much.

As always, thanks for all the work that goes into this community and site.

My apology for the outdated links; some of the reasoning is due to keeping new--but often buggy--drivers off the page. However, I think what I need to do is just link to the 'starter' page(s) for these, so they don't get out of date per se; leaving the final decision of reliability to the user. I'll work on this today and have the fixes posted.

Well, actually, according to the DL site, the 15.51 drivers are for the 650i SLI chipset under Windows 7 64-bit. According to the supported hardware info of the 15.53 drivers, the 650i SLI chipset isn't supported. I haven't tried them, as I usually just do a search for the 650i SLI chipset, so I don't know.

Can anyone vouch for whether the 15.51 drivers are reliable/stable in Windows 7? I've been sticking with 15.25...

My apologies...when I did a search the Nvidia download site defaulted to the nforce 9 series and I changed it to the 7 series out of habit.
Seeing as how he/she does not have any sig, I should have asked what type of mobo he/she was using before I made the assumption. Sorry for butting in.

Greg,

I used the 15.51 drivers on my 790 mobo up until I swithced over to the X58 and never seemed to have an issue. I can check to see what drivers I have installed on the other pc, I think they are the latest as well. Sorry can't be more help.

Okay, thanks for the feedback; I'll remove the fallback link, since it sounds like it's no longer needed.
