Yea, its not too bad.

Some of the pros:

- Plays just about every game maxxed out.
- Does not generate too much heat/use too much power
- Has dozens of connections, only 3 USB ports though. (not that I need that many anyway)
- Aesthetics are beyond beautiful
- Easy access to most common internal components.

It does have some minor issues/downsides, but it is apparently normal with all of the M15x/M17x notebooks right now:

- There is slight keyboard and mouse lag while the system is in use on battery power.
- Battery life is only about 2 1/2 - 3 hours tops on the 9 Cell battery with the AlienFX lighting off (but what do you expect from a gaming notebook lol).
- Weighs about 9-10lbs.
- Doesnt fit inside your standard notebook bag that is supposed to hold a 17" notebook, when this thing is only 15.6" (had to buy an Alienware bag lol).
- BIOS updates require the burning of the image to a disc and flashing from disc drive (not really what I expected there...maybe they will change in the future).

From what I have also been reading on the DCF, is that apparently all the M15x notebooks have a throttling issue, because if insufficient power to the components. I fortunately dont have this issue, as I have the HD 5850 which only uses 39W Max TDP.

Here is the overview of the throttling issue:

The M15x has a total available wattage to the mainboard of 150W. The CPU uses about 75W for an i7 720QM+, and 65W or less for the i7 620M or lower. For users who have this notebook that use any of the Nvidia GPU's that uses another 75W of power, which equals 150W. So hence, leaving the rest of the system (USB, Display, etc) deprived of power, and causes the other components to throttle to consume less wattage.

My old M15x had this issue, but I am glad that I got a Radeon 5850 in this machine so I wouldnt run into that issue.

In case anyone was thinking of getting one, maybe this info can help out.
