Don't forget you are also losing valuable warranty time also, so they need to compensate you for that.

I actually should tell them that too. Thanks for the reminder JDookie.

They should also compensate me for countless hours on the phone, time without my laptop, headache, etc.

I wish they could have just given me all that in a nice refund or credit. It would have been MUCH easier, and I would have had a working notebook by now....

I know you know this already, buts its all in who you talk to, and if you keep climbing the chain, eventually, you will get what you want. They all have supervisors, so if someone isn't doing what you want just ask for their supervisor, and try again.

Thanks for the advice JDookie. Its well appreciated.

I just want a working laptop. LOL. I dont know if that is too much to ask for these days, but apparently it looks that way.

Ive been literally climbing the chain for a couple months now. LOL. Just all this waiting is killing me. I have been extremely patient with them (as you all can see lol), and all I want is this to be resolved. I called back today to check in on the status, and yet nothing is still done....still in the same position it was last time.

Either they're intentionally trying to discourage you in hopes you'll give up, or their communication system is entirely dependent on blind, deaf, and dumb mice...there is just absolutely no excuse for the way they've treated you as a customer. Next thing you know, they'll claim you owe them money for something.

See my post about dell in the Other thread . . .

viewtopic.php?f=19&t=4348

Maybe you should insert "my laptop" where the article says "optiplex"

  All too true!

When making a toast, it's "bottoms up!"

When talking about Dell, it's "belly up".

Dead, but floating.

Hahahaha. Yea. Dell is really sucking the big one right now. I am just sick of waiting.

And here is the real juicy part....I just called up to check up on the status again, and its in pending status, and the tech told me it could take up to 30 days from the start of the pending date, which was updated to 6/24. WTF!?!?!? :wtf:

This is just really, really.........really aggrevating right now. I am sitting here with a broken laptop with 3 years of warranty left. I, yet again, asked a supervisor to just give me a damn refund or credit, and they say they cant because it is already in the process of being exchanged.

I may go bald very soon from pulling my hair out.

Wow, Dell and their great customer cervice  3 months....that's just way to long imo.

If its still in "pending" than nothin is physically happening...or at leaste that's the way it sounds. Talk about dragging their feet :wtf:

Well just today I got a call from Dell (a nice change for once instead of me calling ) and they informed me that everything is now approved, and they are going to get me a brand new system. ABOUT F*CKING TIME!!!

They gave me a choice between either a brand new Alienware M15x or brand new Studio XPS 1645. I am definitely not passing up an Alienware after 3 months of hell and back.....twice.

Now I am just waiting for the order number to be generated and for the computer to be built. They said I should get the order number sometime this coming week, or maybe the beginning of next week due to the holiday.

So hopefully before the end of this month, I should have the new system.

Well, they havent generated an order number yet, so they dont know. Hopefully I will find out this coming week. But they definitely said it will be black and have a 9 cell battery. But that is about it for now.

I will post up order details when I get them from Dell.

Ok guys...

So finally.......after 3 months, I have an order number for the new machine. Its an Alienware M15x. Here are the goodies:

Special Edition Nebula Red Color
Intel Core i7 720QM
6GB DDR3 1333MHz
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit
1080P HD Widescreen Display w/camera
Nvidia GT 240M 512MB
500GB Hard Drive 7200RPM
Blu Ray Reader
Bluetooth and Wireless N Built In
9 Cell Battery

And its brand new, no refurb, and I would have hoped so after 3 months of waiting. They said I should have it in a week or so. Now I play the waiting game for the Fedex Guy. LOL

I kinda wish they gave me an i3 or i5 CPU instead, so it would be less heat and less power used, but oh well. They said they can switch it, but it would take longer to receive the laptop, and I am not waiting any longer than I have to, so i'll just deal with it. I dont mind the extra performance anyway.

Congratulations. Hope this one makes it past the Dell shipping dock!

Just freaking unbelievable that it took over 3 months for Dell to complete this replacement.

You're telling me.

I was shocked myself. I am just glad its almost over. I am just awaiting the day that I sign for it and open the box. :D

Hopefully its not DOA like the last notebook. And this time, (god forbid it is DOA) I am just going to ask to have it fixed in home. I am not going to wait again, and I dont plan on it.

I am just praying its all smooth sailing from here on out. I dont want to deal with this shit again to be honest. At least they were also nice enough to extend my warranty for 3 months for the time it took to replace the system.

But still, I dont think it really should have taken this long.

I hope I dont either. I was reading on the DCF about someone with the M11x having the issues with the hinge, something about it having a weak point or something...

If something goes wrong with this machine............I dont know anymore.

I think that issue is only on the M11x though, since its a lot smaller and thinner. This M15x is almost 9 lbs and is a lot more sturdy. I just want to avoid any problem with the new machine. I think I have been through enough already, going to hell and back a few times.

But lets just see how it goes. I just want to get the system in my hands to begin with. :D
