Currently, my grandsons are using my XPS 630, but I believe it has a Q9450 in it. I have had to replace the hard drive and the video card...everything else is stock.

Looks like a good build you'll have.

P.S. Don't slow down yet--I'm older than you ;) and still building.

I run my 630i in an automotive shop environment. all stock except rear exhaust fan and second hard drive with win 7. I just clean it out about once a month. not a gamer though. just use it for work related stuff and training.

My wife is using my old 630i. Still has the Core 2 Duo E8500 and a GTX 470 video card. It does what she needs it to do.

Nice to hear what everyone is using/doing these days! :)

I feel like a total hypocrite buying a Dell XPS 8700, but I have to say it's a far cry from the days/issues of the 630i. :) It's pretty solid, good specs, decent price, etc. and can be upgraded fairly well. Smaller footprint too. Would recommend it to anyone except the super high-end gaming crowd.

I hear ya! lol I tend to get kicked around in GTA Online, but it's still fun. :) I try to use strategy/wits rather than sheer reflexes. ;)

Woah! Nice build indeed. Glad everything is running smoothly..!

It's too bad there isn't a GTX 960Ti (there is a 980Ti, but it's pricey); that would be a nice tradeoff between price and performance. Anywho, whatever you get, aim for an EVGA-brand; they're the best of the bunch, IMO.

BTW, you can always add an SSD later--get a Samsung EVO if you do; excellent drives! :) Just had to throw that in there. lol

And please do post a photo or two if you get a chance (so we can drool over it). ;)

Seems odd to me but do all graphics cards mount with the fans facing down? Almost all cases use the left side access panel ( except the 630i  ) one or I would think they would make them facing up for show with side panels made for viewing parts inside. Any one know why this is so?

Nice photos--great build!

What do you think of the GTX 960? I've been toying with the idea of getting a 970 or so, but I don't think it would be wise for me to buy a new quite yet. :)

Hey Greg this card runs all my games on highest settings across the board. But thats not saying much with the games that i play Crysis 1,2,3 Far Cry 1,2,3 soon 4 Deus Ex 1,2,3 Most all tomb Raiders from # 1 to present. Battlefield 1-4 And a few others. I play mostly single player If you read my post above you will see why  Over all the computer dosen't seem to be all that much faster but every thing runs much smoother games and all. The only thing besides having to pay for everything LOL is that now i have to go and buy some of the programs that were free with a Dell that i have got hooked on.

P.S. Do you know why they make the fans on the GPU's facing toward the botton?
