Hi, I've just bought a 630i second-hand, It’s ok, apart from a few freezing issues that I will work on later.

My main problem is that I can't see anything before the Win 7 splash screen.

I have two NVidia 9800 GTXi running in SLI. Duel Screen DVI

Any help getting to the Bios would be very appreciated, plus I have just bought Win7 Ultimate 64bit, and want to do a clean reinstall, but with a blank screen, can't see my options.

Thanks

Tony

I believe F2 is the key to get into bios. Just keep pressing it and hopefully you'll get into it.

Thanks for your reply, F2 does indeed open the BIO, but the screen is still blank. I believe this is because the drivers only load when windows starts.

Anything else?

It is funny, my parents PC (XPS 420) just started having the same problem. I used to be able to see the Dell Logo with the F2 and F12 options on the screen. Then it would move to the windows is loading screen. I dont see any of that either anymore. It just shows up as soon as the PC says "welcome" and logs you in.

Just out of curiosity, what monitor are you using? I want to see if it is a monitor related issue or a GPU issue.

Hmm. I guess its not a monitor issue, because I have a Dell 20.1 in with the built in camera/mic. I would have to say its either the GPUs or a motherboard problem. Since you have 2 9800GTX's, try removing the one closest to the CPU heatsink, and move your second card (the one on top closest to the PSU) to that location, and run only with 1 card, and see what happens.

I had this exact same issue and it was because I plugged my monitor into the wrong port/card. Your monitor needs to connect to the primary video card. That is, the bottom GPU.

I hope this is what fixes it.

A bit more information: the primary video-out plug will show the bios startup screen. The secondary video-out plug, which you are currently using, does not output display until the windows driver turns it on - which is during the time that you are seeing the monitor come on now.

Nice catch on that one hairbautt!

But yea I guess I got used to troubleshooting more of the complicated stuff, and forgot to look over the basics. :P
