Has been around since 2011, but is making a come back and growing. Starts out as one and quickly populates itself into several more in the form of executable files, rootkit, downloaders, remote hosts, back doors and just plain nasty stuff. My PC crashed several times and locked up as well because of it.

I have been dealing with this all day long today and usually, I'm good for removing entries, registry keys etc. But this one had me at my wits end. So much so, that after 4 hours, I actually had to get some remote tech help to finally rid my system of it.

And if you get a notification telling you it's on your PC, do not, repeat, do not wait to remove it. It will only get worse.

Now I'm seeing ads for Asian dating sites at the bottom of the page here...... :o

Yeah, nasty stuff! What anti-virus software did you have installed, and was it kept up-to-date?

I was using AVG and I always keep it up to date. I'm usually pretty careful about what I click on or open, but this one, somehow, slid under the radar. Lavasoft didn't pick it up, neither did Spybot. It also got by Windows Defender, but that one was my fault as I didn't realize it wasn't running.....

I use Chrome as my browser. Man, what a pain in the butt to get rid of.

You should try a program called "combofix" to remove it.
