I have a 630i that I got without a HDD. I put an empty HDD in and decided to install Win 7 from my bootable USB.
When I boot from USB (boot order is correct and everything) I get an error that says the BIOS is not ACPI compatible. I'm just wondering how everyone managed to get Win 7 onto their machines. It originally had Vista on it I believe.

Specs -
Stock MOBO (BIOS 1.0.13) - appeared to be the latest revision available
Radeon 4850
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600
750W PSU

I would appreciate any help I can get. Just wondering what I can do to get around this.

Hi,

I did a quick search, and came across the thread below--maybe this would help?

I honestly can't believe that worked :wtf: I don't know what settings in the BIOS even changed when I reset to default but thanks for the link, it did the trick. 4 hours fussing with BIOS and OS install devices..... 10 seconds to click restore defaults and boom Win 7 works. Thanks again
