Hey there, I am currently running Vista 32 and feel like I live in the dark ages so I decided to upgrade to Win 7 64bit....Just was curious to what I need to expect and prepare for when I do this....I have been reading and understand that you need to backup all your important files etc that you want to save and transfer over...lucky for me I have an old external Hard drive I can use for that...i was just curious if anyone new of issues arising when trying to transfer over old pic files and other office documents...also will I need to update all my current programs and applications as well..I have heard old 32 bit can work with 64 ?

Another question i have is which version of 7 should I stick with the base premium or splurge for the ultimate edition ? According to microsoft website comparison I see no differences for me to get the ultimate, but i thought I had read somewhere that by getting the ultimate it allows better performance overall, I cannot remember if this is due to more ram recognition or what?

nvm last post found a couple really good sites with the breakdowns on win 7 versions...Seems to me the premium is what I need for now and I guess I can always upgrade later if I ever decide I need to.
