Does anyone know where I can get the latest audio drivers for the Realtek ALC888 HD Audio (default sound card for the 630i) preferably for Windows 7.

I've noticed that the sound skips with the Microsoft drivers, but with the ones for Realtek it doesn't and I just reinstalled the RC.

Realtek drivers are always hard to find...

Ok, I have the original 650i Mobo on XPS 630i (run Vista 64-bit). Getting ready to reformat my system to troubleshoot a frequent display driver crash and see if it's the hardware.

At the Realtek site, there is driver V 2.57 (I assume it wouldn't apply to me, because there are Dell drivers specific to the on-board audio, like 1.99). Then we have the my630i drivers and firmware page, which refers to 1.99, A01.

When I run dxdiag, it says I have drivers 6.00.0001.5667 (Realtek Audio Manager says same thing and that I have ALC888S). There is a download page at Dell's site that has an update of 6.0.1.6039, A01 for Realtek ALC888 HD Audio, but it says Windows 7 and Alienware compatibility.

Did I somehow install the wrong drivers a long time ago or is this a case of a base driver that applies to various Realtek products?

I would try the new drivers from realtek, I don't think you'll have any problems, and they usually fix some sort of issue. Also, if you get a chance, I would update your bios to 1.0.13

Since I'm reformatting soon, it wouldn't hurt.

Thanks.....
