Microsoft released their new security software today.

Sounds pretty good from some of the reviews I've read... here's one:

Been usin' it since the beta. I like that it's set-to-forget and rather lightweight...hopefully it really does its job altho' I'm not really the type who runs into viruses/spyware.

Microsoft Security Essentials is a great anti-virus program. It is nice and light weight. Hides very well in the task bar. Lots of times you forget it is even there.

I switched to it since AVG Internet Security was giving me some headaches--so far so good! It feels leaner and seems to get the job done.

Having worked on the virus spyware and malware removal boards for Dell for years, I totally agree that right now Microsoft has the best AV program out there now.

Free or pay, you can't beat this.

I have used from AVG, Avast, Norton, McAfee and more and hands down this is the best.

Not a resourse hog like Norton and McAfee... I changed from Avast! when I got this new system with W7.

I agree, the MS Security Essentials is great. I have used it since its release instead of my Norton Gaming Edition AV.

It is very speedy, responsive, and pretty good at protecting my PC, especially when the program is free.

It just makes me feel better knowing its free.....LOL.

I have read several review on MSS as I was running it till yesterday.

After reading what PC Mag. and others have said I have gone back to using the free version of Avast! as I have been doing for the last few years.
