Even though its "old" i really enjoy my XPS 630i still to this day.
I have just done the last upgrade of its lifecycle and its running better than ever
The system is now as follows :
Running Win 10 Pro 64 bit
Kingston V300 SSD SATA
stock motherboard (thermaltake chipset fan)
8GB PC8500 Kingston hyper X
Intel Q9550 Cpu 2,8ghz 1333fsb
2TB storage harddrive SATA
AMD R9 380 OC edition
Asus Xonar D2X soundcard
Stock CPU cooler
Arctic cooling 80mm rear fan mounted (with built in rpm/temp control)
Running nvidia system performance software and AlienFX for the lights.
Pictures of the newly upgraded 630i can be seen here : http://peecee.dk/upload/view/457086http://peecee.dk/upload/view/457093http://peecee.dk/upload/view/457095http://peecee.dk/upload/view/457096
I can play BF3 on ultra with 60-70fps
BF4 plays on medium and is playable.
All other games and apps work great.
3dmark 11 score 7207 with no OC of any kind.
I really am very pleased with the system and the fact that I was able to upgrade and have it still do all the task and games I want it to do, even being fra 2008.
The Dell XPS 630i lives on.
When the time comes for a new upgrade the motherboard cpu and ram will be replaced with high spec hardware and possibly also the PSU, but that will not be before the 630i has had its 10th birthday party i hope
