i want to upgrade my processor, and i read here that the best i can use for my pc is the qx9650. i was wondering if i can use the Q9650 instead. please let me know :)

and if i buy the Q9650 online, what else will i need to buy or do?

Well, it depends on what you have now if it's even worth it. Personally, don't think it would be. If you bought a new processor, it should just drop in.
