BBF -

We have made great progress folding! The team is now approaching the 10K rank up from 24K a day or two ago.

Whooohooo!

Yep. :D deffinately Whoohoo! :D

Shame my lappy's gpu is such an old bugger (bit like me) or that would be yet another folding utility I'd be using. Hopefully in a month or two I'll be able to get the old Dimension 4600 on the go as well! :D

Yeah - I hear you about the electricity - I keep my 630i on most of the time anyway - i know it uses extra electrons, but I figure it is my charity work . . . sort of.

So that's a mini whoohoo for joining, you get your large one on your first WU!

TBH I haven't noticed any slowdowns at all.

It is great to know that we have a third folder in our ranks. I am really looking forward to breaking the 2000th team ranking and them moving on up!

The more members we can get folding for the team, the faster we move up.

Again, thanks for folding for the team (make sure the team number is in your configuration).

David

Is there only three of us?

Can you confirm which installer you used? I'm a bit confused.

Yep, 3 members at the moment, mind you we've only been going for just over a week.

I'm using:

GPU - Folding@home-Win32-NV-GPU-systray-620r1.
CPU - Folding@home-Win32-x86-systray-630.
Both can be found here.
Monitor - FahMon-2.3.2b-Installer. Download here.

And as davbow says, don't forget to put the team number in the set-up!

Once you've installed you can get to it by right clicking the F@H icon in your tray (near the clock) and select "Configure".

The GPU one gets through the most WU's (Work Units) than the CPU one. Neither have an impact on system performance so you could install both if you wish, but you may want to try just one for now to see how you get on, if so then I would suggest the GPU.

Once (if?) we break into the top 2000, the stats at Extreme Overclockers are pretty cool to look at - but they only maintain stats on the top 2000 teams.

It looks like we are going to have to add some "folders" to the team to reach the 2000 rank . . . we seem to have leveled out with our rank progress a bit - we are moving up much slower.

Have you tried running the installer as administrator?

Sorry, I meant to say, the GPU version crashes everytime I run the console after it has installed successfully.

Ah, it could be that both CPU and GPU have the same machine ID. You could try setting your CPU to 2 (in the F@H control panel - advanced tab, at the bottom) and run the GPU again, I think they both defaulf to Machine ID 1 but must be different to run together.

Yeah, kind of hard to troubleshoot at this point.

Which .dll is reported missing? Which video card do you have?

If you're missing a CUDA-related file, it might be worth checking you have latest NV drivers?
CUDA on the 8800 series was only introduced with a new driver quite recently... although I can't remember which one it was exactly
