In the FAH folder I have the smp client and the Binary, still nothing works but the folder looks pretty.

Just got it work. Here is what you need to do. If you ready un-install the FAH Windows SMP Client. You need to down load this file FAH6.23beta-win32-SMP-mpich.exe and go through the process to get it install into the FAH folder. It will give you the .exe file and you need to change to FAH6. Do not change name of that file. Leave it there or better delete it because it ready expired. Download the Drop-in binary for current Windows SMP console client (6.24) Double Click to open it. It will go through the install process. It will give you the .exe file. This is the file you need to change to FAH6. From here, follow the same step that you need to do on the sticky. Which mean you need to start out at the command line "install.bat" then go from there.

Notice: during the "FAH6 -configonly" I got kick out a few time. But I just keep trying until I get through the whole configuration process.

I have also read that some people were having issues trying to configure the renamed file initially. If you haven't already, run the configuration with the original file name, then rename it and try that and see if it works for you.

kickdown,

You are correct. Your system basically has to stay running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year, etc.

Now that I've been folding a while, its really cool and all, but I'm getting tired of hearing this thing run. It all creates so much heat that my entire cooling system has to be cranked to 100% all the time, aside from the fact that I'm getting tired of working in a hot office. My entire house is 20C right now, nice and cold, but my office is 27C, nice and warm. Going from my hall to my office feels like I am going outside.

I'm also getting worried about how much electricity this is using. I have a high enough electric bill as it is, I don't really need to add to it.

So, now that I've said all this. I'm going to let it finish all the wu's that are in progress, and then shut it down.

All in all, its a great stress test, but I think I've done enough work for Stanford.

Yeah, good stress test. Summer really hot at some
place and it would be double pay for electric to your home AC and folding LOL. Wait until near
Winter and shut down your heat and use the computer to generate heat for your room LOL

It's funny you say that about heating the room in the winter. My wife walked in my office yesterday and said the exact same thing, lol.
