My sentiments exactly; it's what happens when marketing runs the company.

Not just the marketing, but its because they allowed a PC exclusive title onto the consoles, thus ruining the game. Even after 9 patches on Crysis 2 (1.0-1.9), there are still a bunch of bugs, hackers, etc. I liked the single player campaign, but the multiplayer was/is beyond broken.

That, and when Jon couldn't run a server, it was all over.

Heh; I miss the good 'ol 630i Crysis/Crysis Wars battles. :) I keep wanting to engage cloaking in BF3 when a sniper has a bead on me.

Is there anyone (m3thod1c4l maybe) running Crysis 3 with specs similar to mine or knows of someone? I saw one benchmark out there with one 5870 (pathetic) but I didn't see results for 5870 crossfire or an I7980x processor. Everything being benched seems to be the new hardware. I don't really care about the numbers. At 1680x1050 on medium with fraps I get average 63.5 with min 51 and max 76. On high I get average 61 but min is around 30, latest 13.2 beta 7 driver. What I care about is eliminating the freaking occasional micro stuttering, which I get on medium or high and even got in Crysis 2. All other games still run smoothly on highest settings. Is there a way to fix the occasional stuttering? I saw someone say it's crossfire doing that.

What you are experiencing is micro stutter from running more than 1 GPU. With ATI/AMD, its more prominent as their drivers just blow in my opinion (in comparison to Nvidia).

It should get better as newer drivers are released and the game gets more patches.

I was afraid you were going to say that. So I'll wait and see. With "AMD" flashing when Crysis 3 starts up as opposed to Nvidia in Crysis 2, one would think AMD and EA would have had it all sorted out before game release. 13.2 beta 7 combined with the latest game patch do make it better though.

Thanks.

Yea, Nvidia is honestly the best IMO for graphics cards. Their driver support is just phenomenal. AMD drivers are just bad.

I have owned the HD 5870's, 5970's and the 7970, and the drivers are always subpar compared to Nvidia. Don't get me wrong, AMD makes great cards for the price, but the drivers aren't the greatest and it takes them forever to get them working properly (and they usually break something else in the process.).

Nvidia also did a really nice job in the last year or so of cleaning up their driver install system--much cleaner and simpler.

Yea, I like Nvidia too. I think going forward it will always be single GPU's for me. It seems to only be in the Crysis games but man a minimum 51 framerate but still stuttering - yes must be a driver issue but extremely frustrating. They still talk about improvements to Crysis 2 in driver releases. A little late - I'm done playing that game. I think this setup still runs most games well. I'll wait for you guys to tell me when a single GPU update is worthwhile (thanks for that LOL). I don't know if/when this processor would be a bottleneck. Guess I would have to install MSI afterburner to figure it all out.

Well I guess with the FCAT analyses showing Nvidia way ahead on managing micro stuttering, AMD felt the pressure to address the issue. Luckily for me with a couple of older 5870's it is for now being improved by way of software (drivers) as opposed to hardware. I installed that 13.8 frame pacing driver and fired up Crysis 3. Over two hours in the major battle scenes and I couldn't believe it - not one single micro stuttering occurrence. I only tested with Crysis 3 but that is where I was previously getting the stuttering - not anymore. Thank you AMD.
