Anyone who bought the PC version have thoughts on the game? Cancelled my pre-order after trying the demo. Wondering if the final version was any better/different?

Downloaded, installed, played for about an hour. NOW HAVE CLOCKED SOME MORE TIME.

Currently, there are some issues with redeeming pre-order bonuses as well as the game not saving your CD-key, so you have to enter it every time you startup the game. RESOLVED.

However, I have played thru the first couple of chapters and three rounds of multiplayer & I am excited! The graphics are amazing even without DX11 (which shouldn't be a game-breaker) and I am able to run the settings on "EXTREME," that is, MAXed out. It seems as everything has been streamlined from the nano suit powers to typical gameplay. If you take cover behind a wall or barrier, just hit Mouse2 and you can lean out while aiming down the sights. See a high barrier? Run up to it and jump. Run and crouch to slide through low-cut openings and nail some bad guys. Better yet, get behind a car and kick the damn thing to crush some foes.

Altho', it should be noted tat the multiplayer map that I played did not have vehicles, but I did drive one for a few seconds in the singleplayer. Doesn't seem like its a common feature tho'.

The only real noticeable loss from the original Crysis is the massive maps and vehicles. You lose that "sandbox" feeling that the original had, but all in all, it is still a good game so far 'cause it does still provide you with alternative paths for sneak attackes, etc.

Sorry, to those who cancelled their orders. :-P

This sums it up for me...

Seriously, I waited a whole year on pre-order only to be severely disappointed...I'm printing the Amazon return label as I type.

Yeah, my sentiments exactly (minus the expletives though)...consoles = ball & chain gaming.

Well, I wasn't expecting Black Ops to be what I'd hoped Crysis 2 would be, but I agree about no more pre-orders.

IF demo
AND like
THEN buy
ELSE fail

Harry,

Can you host a lan game?
Can you host an internet game and invite friends?
Can you use custom maps?

If no to any/all the above I think I'll wait untill C2 winds up in the bargain bin before I re-think a purchase.

Aye, I was disappointed by the demo and was holding out to see what others say about the retail build. Maybe when it's a lot cheaper next year I'll pick it up. :/

I wondered the same, billy.

That's a trend that's not limited to just Crysis 2...Unfortunately.

D&D as in Dungeons and Dragons? If that's the case, then NWN or NWN2 are probably your best bet. If that's not the case, then sorry...:D

LOL, I think David is referring to DDO (where I have spent a few hours) which is a popular MMORPG, so LAN is not applicable and internet hosting is done by the DDO servers HQ'd in Massachusetts. The custom maps are the different packs that are available when they update the game, which is every few months. As far as user choices, you can create a character of different race and class. And you can customize how that character looks and how that character performs in six different attributes: strength, dexterity, constitution, intelligence, wisdom, and charisma.

So, I think FPS and MMORPG, apples and oranges.

Multiplayer sucks. It's either horribly unbalanced or the cheats and hacks (which were accelerated by the release of a demo) have really taken hold as some gaming news sites have said.

http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/crysi ... html?id=74

Also, CryTek's anticheat measurements are only manifested in "Vote Kick." Nothing else.

Agreed with Harry ^^^.

Not to mention, spawn points just flat out suck! You spawn somewhere, then 5 secs later, someone spawns where you just spawned and kills you........really good on Crytek's part. And I thought Halo Reach spawnpoints were bad.....
