I re-did my 630 for the second time. I switched to an MSI board w/ AMD CPU. I was able to re-install AlienFX/Command Center. I installed the Nvidia ESA software. I have no lights and no light controls. I cannot install the MIO driver in .hex format. Is it possible the MIO board died in the rebuild? There is one black plug towards the top that is not connected to any wire that I see. Any help is appreciated. FYI, the case lights do not show up in AlienFX or Nvidia performance, just the mouse and keyboard. The side buttons on the mouse zoom in and out, which they never used to do. I see no selection to change those either.

Well, if you look at this picture here, http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/s ... #wp1180582 and if it is number 5, it needs to be connected to a usb header on mobo. I believe the MIO driver you are talking about in .hex format is actually the firmware and that is updated using the nvidia ESA tools update program. I would think that you can change the mouse behavior by using the mouse software, that's what I do anyway.

It's the #4 connector and my 3.5 bay is empty, so that makes sense. I had ESA and alienfx on this PC with an Asus board, but after the switch to the Amd/msi set up, I have no case lights at all. Alienfx and ESA are both installed. I will see if the driver loads in ESA after I replace the power supply tonight.

Did you reinstall Windows after you swapped the motherboard?

Not sure how you installed AlienFX without the stock board, because the software does a check for that before the install can continue, unless something has changed in recent AlienFX update.

I have the Alienware TactX mouse and Keyboard. Might be the reason why it was able to install. It's been acting up though. I am going to try to re-install it. The MIO board molex connector wasn't connected after the MB swap, so that fixed the light issue.

Ahh you used that Command Center. :D Yes that one works if you have the TactX set.

Glad you got it solved! Thanks for posting the info for future reference.
