Hey all I recently did a MB swap to an asus p5q pro turbo. When I had the stock Mb. I could controll the fans at start up threw the nvidia control panel then there would be a screen that said if i wanted to save settings at start up.For some reason with the new MB I can not load the settings i want at start up.Does anybody know if there is a way I can do it, having heat issues and at startup they are always at 1 and 2%.I wanted the fans at like 30% at start up,geting tired of always havin to go to nvidia control panel and setting the fan speed.

You can change the speeds but it won't save the profiles? The only thing I can suggest is use version 6.03. If that doesn't work try the latest. Since you changed the mobo, personally, I would just get a manual fan controller, that you can just adjust your fans with the turn of a knob.

Ok i see where i can change the speed of my fans... I have it on automatic control I guess but I was wondering what was a good and safe speed for it to run at all the time?

Which fans are you talking about? I have my front case fans set to 25%, CPU fan at 80%, and my gpu is controlled by MSI Afterburner.

MSI Afterburner, you can get it here http://event.msi.com/vga/afterburner/download.htm You can use it for monitoring temperature and fan speed. You can also use it for setting a custom cooling fan profile. What video card do you have? Add it to your sig.

Currently, my fan profile is as follows:

45% @ 0-45 C
60% @ 60 C
100% @ 85 C

I never get that hot though.

I'm not sure how MSI Afterburner works with SLI'd cards. You might want to peruse the manual to find out.

Just thought I would ask, but does it hurt to run the CPU fan at a higher speed steady?

Not at all. It is just a bit more noisy to most users.
