 Post subject: Cleaning the front fan

Hi my front fan are very dirty and i would like to remove them to clean them properly. Anyone has jpg picture of step by step instruction in removing the fan ? The user manual picture is hard to understand and I am afraid I may do something wrong.

You can download the Service manual here http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/s ... /index.htm and follow instructions on pages 69-77. Hope this helps.

the pictures on the manual are clearcut you can't go wrong. It's only a matter of pulling out the cables connected to the fan headers and mio board then taking out the screws on the pictures. After that you just need to slide out the fans.

Hi. I have the same problem except when I try to remove the card fan cage, I am unable to locate the screw that secures the card fan cage. All I see is a big black plastic piece with a big XPS on it that covers it with no screw on top of it.

Any idea where this screw is?

I figured it out. The service manual's picture on the location of the screw is somewhat deceptive.
