I just realized I've never said hello here, or a thank you for all the help this site has been!

A few months ago, I acquired an XPS 630i that was dead. I thought the case was too cool to throw out, so I decided that since my CoolerMaster CM690 had recently taken a quick trip from the work bench to the floor and was now a bit more diagonal than it used to be, I would attempt the parts swap. This site has been invaluable in getting this going! I now have my Asus m-ATX board rocking, and since I have an Nvidia vid card, I can control the lights!

Thanks so much, everyone!

P.S. I'm starting to look for a fan controller - this case definitely gets warm inside!

It is very heart-warming to hear that somebody else has a love of the good old XPS630i case. I think it will become an iconic symbol in years to come. Don't get me wrong, some of the new cases look pretty good but there is something about the XPS630i case that smacks of retro style (for us Brits its a bit like the good old red telephone box). If anyone else has an opinion on this please do post your comments. By the way, I also think that this site, and the people who use it, are both so very helpful.

Welcome texicus! Like chriskaz said, the XPS case does have a snazzy look to it, though my next case will be something with better cooling and general fit/features to it. But it's been a good investment over the years. :)

A big "hats off" to davbow for getting this place going (and maintaining it!) and for our resident gurus and other helpful folks for their insightful advice and creative ideas. :)

@ chriskaz--the retro blue box is reserved for "The Doctor" and his jelly babies...wouldn't it be nice if our cases were as big on the inside? :)

Doctor Who's box is pretty awesome. I bet he don't have problems keeping it cool. The sad thing is that I am old enough to remember when there was blue police boxes on nearly every street corner in London!
