Im going to order a new motherboard AND new ram for my computer, I want 8gb ram and ive decided to get ddr3 instead of ddr2. I still will have an intel dual core cpu though, not upgrading that right now. (keeping my stock one)

I found this motherboard:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6813128496

which claims it has 4 ram slots and ddr3 at that

and I found this ram:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6820231277

Which i plan on buying 4 sticks of to make 8gb of ddr3 ram on this mobo.

IF I do this, will all of my other stock stuff, including cpu work with that mobo?
Will I notice any difference in my system's performance afterwards?
Or since im not upgrading cpu should i stick with the ddr2 ram and the same type of mobo?

Also, my graphics card is an Nvidia GeForce 520 with ddr3 and 1gb memory.
(I beleive since its PCI-E it should be compatible no matter what right?)

Thanks! :]

You should check these threads before upgrading anything so you know what you are getting into:

PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Swapping Mobos in the XPS 630i: Some Tips for Newbies

Also, there are a lot of threads on upgrading the stock motherboard/RAM in this forum, I am sure you will find tons of info in here:

XPS 630i - Upgrade / Modification / Overclocking Discussion

Just take the time to read and research a bit on what others chose in regards to the 2 threads I posted above.

You may want to read up on memory limitations on certain Windows Operating systems (32 bit vs 64 bit) before you buy anything.

And please make a sig like I have so we can see your current hardware.
