My XPS 630i came with Vista Home Premium 64. I've been trying to downgrade to XP 64 due to some computability issues. It loads all the drivers but then blue screens right before the installation and formatting it blue screens. Any suggestions? I've even tried to slipstream in SP3. I'm about to try the Dell Edition XP SP3. Any help would be great.

6 GB RAM
2 Intel Q9550 Duo
GeForce GTX 280

Just a guess but you could try removing all but 2 GB Ram before you try the install. If it works you can then replace the other 4GB.

I think you need to use a program called nLite. Search our board for "nLite" and you'll find several posts from various members doing XP installs.

Yes, nLite nailed the crashes/lockups my older brother had when trying to install XP Pro (an original release without any service pack) on his PC. After using it, he had no problems whatsoever with the installation. Here's the link just to make it handy:

Best of all, it's free. :)
