Prob. with stock xps630i vista64

Everything was running really slow and was getting endless error's.

Now will not boot getting 5 fast beeps but may be six.

Reseated memorey, replaced battery, still no boot same beeps.

Question could it be mother board and if it is what would you suggest as a replacement.

I have orderd new ram so that is on the way.

Right before it would not boot two day's in a row I got BSOD memorey mnagement

Did mem. diognostic test and passed.

Did a memorey dump dio and that pointed to memeory as well

I am not reaaly computer savy so would be very thankful for any help from you more knowlagable guy's.

Going to work now 3:30 will be back 12:30

Thanks

Steve

The clicks you hear are quite possibly your hard drive dying on you--would suggest backing up your data ASAP and getting a new hard drive:

If you're not sure, you can compare the sounds here:

I think you get only gets beeps for power issues. I remember I got mine to beep when I had issues with the power supply which later got replaced. Seems like alot is going on with your machine tho'.

Frankly. I also point to the mobo cuz I went thru 2 of'em and my issues escalated.

What are the specs of your system? Do you have dual video cards? If so, have you tried running each card by itself individually?

Not really sure on the specs,I am on my wifes computer

q9550
Nvidia 9800GT only one installed and do not have one laying around
4gigs ram
wd 750 gi hd

I guess what pisses me off was this computer always ran hot from day one

I would run my cpu and gpu fans at 100%, main fans at 51% and my cpu would average 46c and gpu 58c

If I ran at default it would b 58c 72c and of course I had to set it everytime becouse the software never remebered the settings
It would not surprise me if the graffics card is toast
Or the mother board

Either way I am sick of this computer I would still like to resolve issues it is only 3 years old

I would try a new graphics card. I have a feeling that is toast from the beep code you gave.
