I just got this email in my inbox. I don't know how, but I wanted to see if any other 630i members got it:

Quote:
Dear Manager:
This email is from China domain name registration center, which mainly deal with the domain name registration and dispute internationally in China and Asia.
On June 13th 2011, We received Tianhua Ltd's application that they are registering the name " my630i " as their Internet Keyword and " my630i .cn "、" my630i .com.cn " 、" my630i .asia "domain names etc.., It is China and ASIA domain names. But after auditing we found the brand name been used by your company. As the domain name registrar in China, it is our duty to notice you, so I am sending you this Email to check. According to the principle in China, your company is the owner of the trademark, In our auditing time we can keep the domain names safe for you firstly, but our audit period is limited, if you object the third party application these domain names and need to protect the brand in china and Asia by yourself, please let the responsible officer contact us as soon as possible. Thank you!
Best Regards,
John

Now firstly, I am no manager of this website. LOL. Secondly, I think this guy is on some badly laced crack.

Anyone else get this or is it just me?

Well I am guessing this guy used the email button on the website to email me which actually hides my email address thankfully.

But why the Fu@k would he choose to email me? WTF?

Smells like fishing to me......

Thanks for the heads up.

Yes. I did this weekend, and started Googling it to see if it's for real and found this site and thread. Other forum sites with wind of this have noted that there's no last name and the grammer inaccuracies (which I thought might be due to use of Google translator or something). I hope my posting this helps. Mine read:

On Thu 14/07/11 12:00 AM , "John" john.xu@yg-networksltd.com sent:

"Dear Manager:

I'm just probably being stupid, but how did they get my email address and know that I was a member of this site?

I think what they did was send an email to us by going to our profile page and clicking the "Email" button. It does not expose our email address that way. One reason why I did not reply to the email.

Sometimes these scammers do that just so you reply and then they get your email. Then they sell it off to people. And then you wonder where that junk mail comes from.
