When I've tried to post a picture in the forums all I get is an error message "It was not possible to determine the dimensions of the image." Are images not allowed or am I doing something wrong?

P.S. The new message link still doesn't work for me.

I'm getting the same problem trying to post images from photobucket.com.

I know what the problem is - I have narrowed it down to an option that is not enabled by the hosting provider. I am looking for a work around. I will post again if and when I am able to find a work around.

I have made a modification that may be a workaround. I hate to ask this, but would you check and see if the workaround works?

Davbow,

just made a similar test here:

posting-picture-test-t516.html

Feel free to delete it once you've had a look. I think the size of the pic has a lot to do with the problem.

(didn't know you were a pink floyd fan.)

**EDIT**

davbow, i've deleted that post now as all seems well. BBF

Okay, who parked their truck next to the dumpster?

And that's not photoshop'd either. That's actually where the truck landed after I drove it off the cliff!!!

lol; I see not much has changed since Far Cry's multiplayer days :) Is Crysis multiplayer any better? Far Cry literally had just a handful of pitiful servers...one reason why I quit playing it years ago.

Hrmmm . . . lets see if I can solve the mystery . . .

[edit]

Check out BBF's tutorial here . . . couldn't find it at first, but he kindly pointed the way:

posting-pic-s-etc-t1073.html

[/edit]

First:

Code:
Can I post images?
Yes, images can be shown in your posts. If the administrator has allowed attachments [edit: I have], you may be able to upload the image to the board. Otherwise, you must link to an image stored on a publicly accessible web server, e.g. http://www.example.com/my-picture.gif. You cannot link to pictures stored on your own PC (unless it is a publicly accessible server) nor images stored behind authentication mechanisms, e.g. hotmail or yahoo mailboxes, password protected sites, etc. To display the image use the BBCode [img] tag.

Also, take a look here: http://marist89.blogspot.com/2007/11/po ... forum.html

If you do not have someplace to upload the picture, you can use the attachment feature below where you type your post. You would upload the attachment, and then place it "inline".

At some point I hope to make the process easier . . . but that is a little ways off . . .

If you have tried and it is not working - try posting a picture here and I will see if I can figure out what is going on.

Let me know . . .

David
