I am having server issues today - I have a temporary site up, but you may notice strange things happening while I try to get the original site . . .

No data is lost, *just* some program corruption.

If you have questions, post them here . . .

Sorry for the problems and trouble.

David

Yes - this includes the meds and spam -

I am working as quickly as possible to get things back to normal - but am running into more challenges than I could ever have imagine.

I will get it fixed - just may take longer than we all would like . . .

Hang in there . . . I am working on it . . .

davbow, you might want to look into this... viewtopic.php?f=4&t=3306&p=24124#p24124

The avatar looks very familar but with a different posting that was taken care of from an earlier date. Is it possible to make it mandatory to have new members to create a sig. Is that possible & do you think that can help with the spam problem :?: I was thinking it would be cool that in order to have a full account to create threads or post responses, you must create a sig during the sign-up process. Just a little something scurrying through my mind :)

When I had the temporary site up - my extra spam protection was disabled . . . as a result, spam got through . . .

Hopefully it will really slow down now with the "real" site up and running . . .

Also, the new board software that I will attempt to install when all settles down has further anti-spam devices . . .

Actually, most board admins set it so that new users cannot set a signature at first so that spammers can not use the signature to propogate their wares or urls.

But I am open to any and all suggestions . . .

David
